Mount Lees Reserve is a beautiful walk approx. 10 km from Feilding. It has a gentle loop track walk which is suitable for families, apporox 2.5km long. In spring the daffodils is a must to see.
Te Apiti Manawatu Gorge Walk is approx. 23km from Feilding. The Tawa Loop track has a rating of medium fitness level. It is a steep track, through beautiful native forest. Listen to the birds as you walk around this 4km track. There are two lookouts on the track, one to the white horse rapids and the other with stunning views over the Manawatu. At the top of the track meet the mighty Whātonga.

At the top of the track you can take the Manawatu Gorge track over the Tararua Ranges to Ballance. This is a gentle bush covered 11km, 3-4 hours one way walk.
Kowhai Park is situated off South Street, Feilding. There are short walks through bush, or enjoy the camilia and rhododendron walkways. A new playground was opened in 2021.
Kitchener Park/Awahuri Forest can be accessed from Kawakawa Road. The walk is an approx 20 minute loop track on a boardwalk. Awahuri Forest is an important remnant of lowland semi-swamp podocarp forest, it is one of the last remaining in the Manawatu. Kitchener Park/Awahuri Forest can be accessed from Kowhai park. If you look hard you might find a painted rock or two. It is a flat walk, or bring your bike, which takes you behind Manfield Raceway and follows, the Makino stream. This is an approx, 5km return walk.
Timona Park follows the beautiful Oroua River from Kimbolton Road to Aorangi Street. Self contained campervans or Motorhomes are allowed to park overnight. The park has sports fields, a BMX track and a great playground.
Kowhai Park has a duck pond for the children to enjoy. There is a bird avairy with exotic birds. A new playground was opened in 2021. A BBQ is available for picnics. There is a cricket field which is a great space for lots of family fun.
Makino Park is in central Feilding next to Makino Aquatic Centre, alongside the Makino stream. The park has climbing frames and swings. Included in the Makino Park Area is a new skate park and the Fielding Lions Mini Golf.
Timona Park is a huge green space, with playing fields used for sports. At the childrens playground there are BBQ's for use. Bring your bike and use the BMX track. In summer go swimming in the Oroua River.
The Feilding Lion's Mini Golf is an 18 hole course. It has been operating for 40years! The holes depict landmarks around Feidling, along with other very fun holes. The course is open weekends and school holidays. The price is $5 per adult, $3 per child.
Makino Flowpark was opened in 2020. This is next to the Makino stream and Feilding Lions Minigolf. The flowpark is not just a skate park, it is open to other users such as scooters, BMXers and roller bladers.

Timona Park is on the banks of the Oroua River.
The Oroua River is great to swim in over summer, there are safe shallow spots, but it can be a swift river.
Good swimming skills are suggested, and never swim alone. Always supervise children.
Dry off and use the faclities the park have to offer.

Manfeild hosts major events, Field days, A&P shows, equestian events, Craft Markets and many more.
Manfield is also home to the 3km international Chris Amon racing circut. There are car and/or motorbike racing on most weekends.
Feilding and District Steam Rail Society Inc. hosts an annual open day where you can go on short ride on a steam train, jigger rides, and see how the engines are restored.
